Training records, Care Certificate progress, supervision dates, statutory notification windows and your Provider Information Return — held together, kept current, and exported as one inspection pack when you need it.
Built around the CQC (Registration) Regulations 2009 notification types, the Skills for Care Care Certificate, and the CQC Provider Information Return.
The inspection pack is the reason most managers start with CPD Bee. Everything you have logged through the year is pulled into a single branded PDF — the evidence assembled for you, not gathered the night before.
Seven sections, generated from live data at the moment you press the button. The mandatory-training section carries a full per-record appendix, so an inspector asking “show me the certificate dates” gets them without you leaving the room.
It works for a manager on their own, too — if you have not linked any staff yet, the team sections say so plainly rather than printing a misleading blank.
The pack is evidence preparation. Nothing in CPD Bee is submitted or filed to CQC on your behalf — you keep control of what goes to the regulator and when.
The reporting calendar holds the three kinds of date a registered manager is judged on — recurring organisational returns, per‑staff cycles, and the statutory notifications that have to reach CQC inside a fixed window.
Eleven notification types from the CQC (Registration) Regulations 2009 are built in, each carrying its own filing window and regulation reference — death of a service user (Reg 16), abuse or allegation of abuse, serious injury, DoLS outcomes, police involvement, infectious‑disease outbreaks and events that stop the service running safely (Reg 18), absence and return of the registered manager (Reg 14), and changes to registration (Reg 15).
Log the event date and the calendar works out the deadline, then keeps it in front of you until it is filed.
The Provider Information Return is an annual return, tracked as an organisational deadline — not one of the eleven statutory notifications. CPD Bee keeps the two apart, because CQC does.
Add your own recurring deadlines with a cadence and a reference of your choosing.
Each of these stands on its own, and each one feeds the inspection pack.
A RAG matrix across your team — current, due soon, expired, not yet done. The required list adapts to the service you run and the role each person holds, so a care assistant and a registered manager see different obligations, not one generic checklist.
The full 16‑standard Care Certificate tracked per new starter, from “Understand your role” through to “Awareness of learning disability and autism” — with assessor sign‑off, evidence references and a twelve‑week countdown from their start date.
Log each one‑to‑one and appraisal so the cycle is evidenced and the next date is derived automatically. Overdue supervision surfaces in the calendar before it becomes an inspection finding.
What you write in a supervision record is encrypted with your own key. Rollups, the calendar and the inspection pack carry dates and status only — never the content of the conversation. That is deliberate: a supervision record people trust is one that stays confidential.
A working space for the PIR, so the answers are written over the year rather than assembled in a week.
The full question set is built in for residential services (52 questions across 7 sections) and community services (79 questions across 10 sections). Answers save as you type, carry forward from your last return, and can be copied or exported when you are ready to fill in CQC’s own form.
A “needs attention” panel shows what is still unanswered or over the word limit, so nothing is missed on the day.
CPD Bee drafts your PIR. It does not submit it. You copy or export your answers into CQC’s own form when you choose to. Nothing leaves CPD Bee for the regulator automatically.
Sections carry an indicative mapping to the Single Assessment Framework quality statements. That mapping is ours, offered as a drafting aid — CQC does not publish per‑question links.
The tools are the same either way. What changes is how we set you up.
You are the registered manager, and inspection readiness lands on your desk. CPD Bee gives you the matrix, the calendar and the pack, so the evidence is assembled as you go.
If you run more than one home, we set up and equip each home in the group so every registered manager has the same tools and the same evidence trail — and we scope the arrangement with you rather than sell you seats.
Each home’s manager works in their own account. There is no head‑office dashboard aggregating every home into one view — the per‑user encryption that keeps supervision notes and clinical narrative private is what rules it out. If a group roll‑up is what you need, tell us and we will be honest about where we are.
