You have two options: (1) Voice recording — tap the purple microphone button, speak naturally about your CPD activity, and our AI will structure it into a complete record. (2) Document import — drag and drop a certificate, course summary, or reflective account, and AI will extract the details automatically. Both methods create a structured record with title, description, reflection, and impact on practice for your review before saving.

CPD Bee works on all modern browsers. Chrome offers the best voice recording experience. Edge and Safari are also fully supported. Voice recording works on iPhone, Android, and desktop. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version.

After creating your account, you'll go through a short onboarding that asks for your profession, regulatory body, and registration number. You can update these at any time from the Profile tab. We recommend also setting your Recording Style preference (Standard, Formal, Informal, Scientific, or Brevity) which controls the tone of AI-generated records.

This can happen for several reasons: (1) On Edge, there may be a brief "Connecting to speech service…" phase when you first start recording — this is normal and resolves within a few seconds. (2) If you have browser extensions like Grammarly or Microsoft Editor, try disabling them as they can interfere with speech recognition. (3) Ensure you have a stable internet connection — voice transcription requires an active connection. (4) Try using Chrome if you experience persistent issues with Edge or Safari.

CPD Bee has over 4,000 phonetic corrections for medical terminology across 59 specialties. If you notice consistent errors with specific terms, please report them via the feedback button (thumbs down icon) — we regularly update our phonetic dictionaries.

Yes. After stopping the recording, you can edit the transcript text directly before clicking "Analyze with AI". The AI will work from your edited version.

CPD Bee accepts PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), and PowerPoint (.pptx) files. The AI reads the document content and generates a structured CPD record from it.

AI extraction works best with clearly structured documents like course certificates, conference programmes, and formal reflective accounts. For handwritten notes or poorly scanned PDFs, you may need to edit the generated record. You can always modify any field before saving.

Go to Profile → Edit Profile and enter your Revalidation Date, Designated Body, Responsible Officer, and Annual Appraisal Month. The Revalidation tab will then show your 5-year cycle countdown, supporting information progress, CPD credits, and GMP domain coverage.

From the Revalidation tab, scroll to the bottom and click "Generate Annual Appraisal Report PDF". This creates a comprehensive portfolio PDF including your doctor details, credit summary, supporting information, GMP domains, PDP, declarations, and a full activity log. You can also access it from the Export menu.

If your profession is set to General Practitioner, credits are hidden because the RCGP does not use the credit system. All other GMC-registered doctors see the credit tracking card.

The NMC Revalidation tab tracks your 35 CPD hours (minimum 20 participatory), reflective accounts, practice hours, and NMC Code coverage. You can generate a one-click Revalidation Portfolio PDF from the Revalidation tab or the Export menu.

Sensitive record fields (descriptions, reflections, and patient benefit statements) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a unique key for each user. Even the CPD Bee developers cannot read your clinical reflections in the database. All connections use HTTPS, and we support two-factor authentication.

Go to Account → Security → Enable MFA. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. You'll need to enter a code from the app each time you log in.

Go to Records → Export. Choose PDF, Word, Excel, NMC Portfolio PDF (nurses), or GMC Appraisal Report PDF (doctors). All formats include your complete CPD history.

Go to Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your records, profile data, and account information. This action cannot be undone.

Go to Team → Invite Member. Enter the person's name and email address. They'll receive an invitation email with a link to join your organisation. Invitations expire after 7 days.

Team leaders can see your progress summary (total hours, record counts, activity types, and readiness scores) but they cannot read your individual record content. Your descriptions, reflections, and patient benefit statements are encrypted with your personal key and are inaccessible to team administrators.
